These prints are reproductions from the original chalk drawing created by 19th century Norwegian artist, Knud Larsen Bergslien. Artistically, the drawing exemplifies the extraordinary technique of a master's refined and delicate rendering in the challenging medium of chalk. Historically, the drawing depicts a moment in the legendary journey of two Birkebeinere warriors escaping with the child who would become one of Norway's greatest Kings.

A LEGENDARY MOMENT CAPTURED FOR ALL TIME...

The original chalk drawing was rediscovered by Diane Carlson in a Minnesota antique shop in the 1960's and was a part of her art collection until 1993, at which time it was loaned to the Atlanta Olympic Committee's International exhibit. Sometime during this loan, the work of art mysteriously disappeared. Fortunately, a transparency had been made of the original prior to the loan and was used for this Limited Edition.
Proceeds are being donated to aid in the investigation and recovery of this Norwegian National Treasure.
